In this heartwarming video, Tavaita Ruth and her mother Mrs. Merewalesi from Fiji share their experience of battling cervical cancer and seeking treatment at Apollo Hospital. Mrs. Merewalesi was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer in April 2022 and was told that there was nothing that could be done for her back home in Fiji. However, with the help of medical officers, she opted for treatment at Apollo Hospital and arrived in August 2022. Despite facing some challenges in making travel arrangements, they were greeted with warmth and positivity upon their arrival at the hospital.

The treatment process began with a session with Dr. Satyesh Nadella, Radiation Oncologist who provided Tavaita and her mother with a detailed overview of the procedures and the chances of survival. Despite the odds, Dr. Nadella's reassuring words gave them hope and confidence to proceed with the treatment. Throughout the treatment process, the doctors and staff at Apollo Hospital were incredibly supportive and informative, guiding them every step of the way.

Mrs. Merewalesi had to undergo a uterine embolization procedure to control the bleeding, which was a matter of life and death. Her daughter stayed by her side throughout the procedure and was relieved to see her mother recover successfully. Merewalesi then spent seven days in the ICU before being moved to a general room. She received chemotherapy under the care of Dr. Venkat Sampath and slowly recovered from her illness.

This video is an inspiring story of hope, resilience, and the power of medical care. It showcases the importance of seeking medical treatment and the impact that a supportive environment can have on a patient's recovery. Watch this video to learn more about Mrs. Merewalesi's journey and how Apollo Hospital provided them with the best treatment and care.
