DO's and DONT's
DO's
- You should always carry your passport with you, but do keep it safely.
- If you find yourself in any legal hassle, immediately contact your Embassy.
- Be careful with your luggage, always keep it with you.
- It is highly advisable to carry a waterproof laminated card mentioning your details – name, address, blood group or any medical information.
- Keep your cash safely and avoid carrying too much cash.
- If you find anything shady you can straight away report to the police.
- Keep all the necessary medications with you.
- Make sure to carry a medical kit with all the necessary bandages and antibiotics during your trip.
- At the airport contact the travel help desk for any advice rather than asking the people around.
- Get a sim card for your phone.
- Hire experienced medical travel agent or patient care manager.
- Stay vigilant, alert, and watchful, especially if you encounter a taxi driver or an autorickshaw driver who insists you to access a particular hotel/restaurant/hospital which you have not planned ahead etc.
DONT's
- Don't trust strangers with cash.
- Don't entertain beggars.
- Always cross check your bill before leaving the hotel/restaurant/hospital.
- Avoid driving on Indian roads if you are not trained in it.
- Always avoid getting into strong arguments.
