e-FRRO

Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)/Foreigners Registration Office (FRO)

All foreigners who desire Visa and Immigration related services in India viz. Registration, Visa Extension, Visa Conversion, Exit Permit etc. need to apply for e-FRRO.

e-FRRO is an online FRRO/FRO Service delivery mechanism for foreigners without requirement of visiting FRRO/FRO Office, unless specifically called upon by the FRRO/FRO.

It is a complete digital process to submit application(s) and upload the documents. The foreigners are required to create their own login credentials by registering themselves online on the e-FRRO portal.

The Foreign Nationals are advised to apply for e-FRRO at least 2 weeks in advance.

Procedure:

1.Create User ID:

  • The user can register on the online portal by creating User ID & Password

2.Authenticate Login credentials:

  • Authenticate the login credentials by One Time Password (OTP) received on user’s valid Email ID & Mobile Number in India.
  • Foreigners should register with their own personal email ID and provide valid Mobile Number in India for receiving OTP and other status updates/alerts at various stages of processing.

3.User Login:

  • The foreign national can login by entering the valid login credentials used at the time of registration after its authentication.
  • The foreign national can then submit an online application by selecting the appropriate service and uploading the requisite documents.

4.Application Submission:

  • The foreign national can fill his/her application form online, upload the necessary documents, photograph in the designated format, and submit the application on the eFRRO portal.

5.Upon Successful Submission of Application:

  • Upon successful submission of application, the Visa Officers would scrutinise the application and necessary instructions with regards to the application, such as Fee Payment, Correction of Selected/desired Service, re-uploading of documents etc. would be conveyed to the Foreign national via email/SMS alerts.
  • The foreign national would be intimated to deposit the requisite fee, if any, for the service through Bank Payment gateway available on the portal.

6.Application Fee Payment:

  • The foreign national would be intimated to deposit the requisite fee, if any, for the service through Bank Payment gateway available on the portal.

7.Application Status Updates:

  • The foreign national can track the application status through the portal and the Support Centre can be contacted for any further clarification.

8.Service Granted/Rejected:

  • The Grant or Rejection of service would be intimated to the foreign national. His/Her RC/RP etc. would be sent through email and can also be downloaded from the portal by signing in.

9.Exigency Scenarios:

  • The foreign national can approach the concerned Civil Authority i.e. FRRO/FRO office directly in case of any exigency/emergency. The services can be granted directly at the FRRO/FRO level upon satisfaction of the case.
