DR SANDEEP IRATWAR is HOD & Professor of the neurosurgery department of JNMC, his kin interest in doing minimally invasive neurosurgery. Department of neurosurgery is well equipped with good quality operating microscope (Moller Wedel Hi R700), best quality high speed drill and saw (Medtronics’ Midas Rex), operating endoscope (Karl Storz), Cavitron ultrasonic tissue aspirator (Sonastar), C arm image guidance, intra operative nerve monitoring (medtronics), all the micro neurosurgical instruments, etc. We have dedicated neurosurgical operating rooms, separate Neurosurgical ICU, wards, staffs, residents and full time neurosurgeons. Presently, this is one of the biggest neurosurgical department in Central India. Till date, he had performed more than 2000 major cranial and spinal surgical procedures at this centre with excellent results at par with universal standard. Major surgical procedures are performed for skull base tumors, paediatric brain tumors, cerebrovascular problems, spinal tumors, pediatric neurosurgery, degenerative/trauma spine and cranial trauma. After having trained at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Cochin, he was confident with sound neurosurgical knowledge, wide exposure of neurosurgical cases and proper neurosurgical hands on training. After working for last eleven years at in neurosurgery he feel more confident and competent in managing all kinds of neurosurgical cases.
