Dr. Vinod Sharma is an experienced Interventional Cardiologist based in New Delhi. Since September 2004, he has held the post of Vice Chief Executive Officer & Head of Cardiology Services at the National Heart Institute, East of Kailash, New Delhi. Earlier, he was Senior Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at the Dharma Vira Heart Centre of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, from March 2001 to August 2004. Prior to this post, Dr. Sharma served as a full-time Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at National Heart Institute for nine years. Dr. Vinod Sharma graduated from Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur. After completing his post-doctoral qualification (DM) in Cardiology from MAMC & G B Pant Hospital, New Delhi, he underwent a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology & Electrophysiology from UK. He also has an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. Dr. Sharma specialises in Adult and Paediatric Cardiac Catheterisation and Angiography; Percutaneous Coronary Intervention including PTCA / Intra-Coronary Stent / Intra-Coronary Radiation Stent / Rotational Atherectomy / Thrombectomy; Non-Coronary Interventions including Balloon Valvuloplasty & Pericardial Interventions; Percutaneous Non-Coronary Interventions, Peripheral Angiography & Angioplasty, Carotid Angiography and Angioplasty, Balloon Valvuloplasty & PDA Closure; Percutaneous IVC Filter insertion for Pulmonary Embolism; Electrophysiological studies and Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation for Supraventricular Tachyarrhythmias; Implantation of Permanent Pacemakers, AICD & Biventricular Pacing. Dr. Sharma has considerable experience in Clinical Research. He has frequently presented his scientific papers at national conferences, and many of them have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sharma has teaching experience of over 20 years and continues to teach DNB students at National Heart Institute, and management students at Hamdard University (Healthcare MBA programme). He is also Visiting Faculty for Cardiology at medical colleges and universities in' India.
