ANESTHESIA:-

Anaesthesia is a state of temporary & reversible loss of consciousness, sensation or awareness. It incorporates profound pain relief & amnesia for patients undergoing surgical, medical dental or other diagnostic /therapeutic procedure.

TYPE OF ANAESTHESIA:-

General Anaesthesia is an anaesthetic Agents /drug induced loss of consciousness, along with pain relief, amnesia and muscle relaxation. The patient needs assistance to maintain her/his breathing & airway control.

Anaesthesiologists help maintain this state by intensive monitoring along with maintenance of a stable state of Breathing &Circulation (Heart & Blood Pressure) and reverse the effects of General Anaesthetic agents at the end of major surgery. They also help continuation of pain relief in postoperative period.

Regional Anaesthesia involves numbing parts of body using either of the two modalities:
