Laparoscopic Ileal Pouch Surgery (IPAA)

Mrs. Hero Wahhab, from Iraq, was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis in 2014. Previous steroid treatments, however, failed to yield any improvement. She decided to visit India to avail of definitive treatment. Her case was jointly evaluated by Dr. Dinesh Singhal, Principal Director & Head, Surgical Gastroenterology (SGE) and Dr. Nitin Vashistha, Principal Consultant, SGE , who recommended Laparoscopic Ileal Pouch Anal Anastomosis (IPAA) surgery. The surgery was carried out in three stages. There were no post-op complications, and the patient could travel back home healthy.
