ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

International Fellowships:

• Awarded a Visiting Fellowship by the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in UK for four weeks in April 2001. Visiting fellow to pediatric intensive care units of Alder Hey Children hospital, Liverpool, Great Ormond Street Children hospital and Guy’s Hospital, London UK in April, 2001.

• Honorary Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, Australia from 1^st June to 31^st August 2004.

• Completed 1 year of fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care at Addenbrookes Hospital (Cambridge University Hospital, NHS) UK from Jan 2009 to Feb 2010.

• Received under International pediatric training scheme awarded by Royal College of pediatrics and child health, UK.

Won 1^st prize in quiz on pediatric echocardiography held during The Oxford Paediatric Echocardiography Course at Oxford UK, 3^rd Feb 2010.

Postgraduate: Stood first in Post-graduate Pediatric Quiz held by North West Chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla in Sep 1994.

Under-graduate:

MBBS--Silver medal for Second Best Graduate in DMC&H.

* Awarded National Scholarship in recognition of the high position secured in the matriculation examination.

* Second best teachers amongst all teachers of medical college on Founders day of DMC&H.

*Awarded certificate of “Teacher” by order of the Governing Body of college of Pediatric Critical Care (member of World federation of pediatric intensive and critical care societies).

OTHER ACHIEVMENTS

• Instrumental in the initial establishment and development of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the hospital from Jan. 1999 and also teach postgraduate residents in intensive care.

• Started ventilatory support in children in the dept of Pediatrics from Oct.1997.

• Initiated Total Parenteral Nutrition in sick children in PICU and neonatal special care unit.
• As Incharge of PICU, responsible for getting PICU accredited for fellowship in Pediatric critical care.
